SENIOR DESIGNER

alley matarrita

Alley’s design career began in 2008 when she took a position at a full-service design firm and retailer in Downtown Bryan, Texas as Designer and Showroom Manager. While there she was led by the greatest teacher in the industry – experience - learning the ins and outs of design and project management. She built a diverse portfolio of design work in Texas and Illinois over seven years at Ambrose Furniture Works.

Alley’s childhood uniquely positioned her to appreciate luxury design. Growing up in her lakeside family home in Ohio, meticulously created by interior designer Denise Williams VanScoder of VanScoder Interiors, Alley was surrounded by the high level of design that she came to expect in her own work. This colonial revival home was the backdrop for Alley’s life as she grew to appreciate and adore the timeless look of cherished antiques, custom wallpapers and fabrics, and luxury finishes. From lakeside to beachfront, Alley also had the privilege of enjoying time in her family vacation home, a multi-penthouse condo in Boca Raton, Florida. Designed by AD100 Interior Designer Tessi Garcia, it was a far cry from the lake house. This space was ahead of its time, featuring organic modern upholstery, water features, glass doors and the most advanced technology of the time. A bar descended from the ceiling. Televisions rotated within columns to serve different rooms. Even the primary bedroom bed would rotate at the push of a button. Marble adorned floors and walls.

Today, Alley is married to her husband of 15 years, David, and has two beautiful young children. Anyone who meets Alley knows that she also loves her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Hazen.  Their family loves to spend their time together at home, kids’ activities, with friends and at church. Both Alley and David are devoted to sharing God’s love in marriage ministry and in their professions. Alley has a deep love for women who have endured trauma and hopes to encourage them in their healing journey toward Christ.
